Read This If You’re Struggling by Mental Blocks
Sharing 4 Years Of Mental Block In My Personal Life

What is a mental Block?
I’d been struggling for the past 4 years with this problem. It drained my energy. Life sucks.
I was aware that I shouldn’t believe what I believed; in other words, I wanted to change my beliefs while I was aware of it.
Simply, I was my enemy.
Okay.
But what is a mental block? I heard you…
A mental block is this:
“If you have a mental block about something, you cannot understand it or do it because something in your mind prevents you”
From the above explanation, my problem was not something that I couldn’t understand.
The mental block was about something I could not do. Because something in me prevents me from doing it.
According to me, a mental block is when you’re held back by false beliefs even though you know it’s not true or you don’t want to be.
For example, If I focus on perfection in my writing, neither I won’t finish my writing nor will I start to write.
But, I couldn’t let myself be held by perfectionism, I do the same. I stopped my perfectionism.
As a result, I get frustrated for not writing at all.
Why should you be aware of mental blocks and why is it important?
Let’s say you’re an aspiring online writer. You’ve all the resources to write a medium post or substack post.
Including
Time
Laptop
Internet
Distraction-free environment
No other commitments or tasks for the day
Moreover, you’re in a good mood. Your day is going smoothly.
But, you couldn’t (start to) write!
You know that you’ve to write. You’re thinking of writing. But, ultimately you ended up depressed for not writing at all.
Did you notice that?
Boom!
That’s what I call a mental block!
From the above example, what’s the problem?
It’s very important to be aware.
If you see, you’re the main person or hurdle to your own growth and you’re holding back by past self that prevents you from becoming your future (best) self, it’s very important to be aware of this problem.
You know what’s wrong or what not to do.
From the above example, what’s wrong is being aware of not focusing on perfection in your writing.
You know what to do about that.
Just (start to) write freely. Without any filter in your mind. Let the words flow.
But, you just can’t write.
Because of mental block.
If you’re experiencing this mental block in one area of your life. Then there’s a high chance that you’ve got the same problem in other areas of your life.
Now, it has become a pattern of your life.
Okay, Sathish.
I see myself having the same problem.
How to Overcome Mental Blocks?
When you find something you should or shouldn’t do, the magic word is ACTION.
Take a small action towards it. Then next small action. Then another, etc.
For example, I’ve been struggling to record my first digital video course content. I’ve been held back by perfectionism. I don’t want to record a low-quality video with crappy content.
This was my mental block. What I did was, I set an intention, no matter what, I’m going to record my course content without looking into perfectionism.
Whenever I hold back by perfectionism mental block I tell this myself: Version 1 is better than version none.
When you start to do something, you’re proving that
your mental block is wrong.
your little voice was wrong.
Next time when you’re grinding by a mental block tell this to you: Your action only will save you from you. So, take a small action opposite to the mental block you have.
Action gives power.
This way you can overcome any mental block.
